I'm not sure if that's a fair question because it does
depend on usage.
For example, if you travel a lot between home and work and
coil your cable up, then that's going to reduce its life
expectancy. Many people coil cables far too tightly.
Likewise, with lithium batteries, if you charge it fully too
often, that will lower its life as well. (Interestingly,
Windows 10 seems to refrain from charging up to 100% to
improve the battery's life. However, Ubuntu does not yet
seem to do this and I have to unplug it when it gets close
to 100% to achieve the same effect.)
Also, if your home or workplace is particularly humid, then
maybe your laptop won't last as long...
So, it's a fairly difficult question to answer...
I think electronics in general are lasting less and less
time than they used to. Various companies have realised
they make more money making you a fan of their products and
selling a new product to you every couple of years is better
for them than making one good product that last 10 years
(for example). A bit sad...
