Hi Deepika, On 26/9/2020 3:21 pm, Deepika Ghuriani wrote:1. What is the maximum life of a macbook / windows /linux laptop you have used and during that period how often did you have to replace its accessories ? ( I am using my macbook pro since 2012 and had to replace my charging cable 3 times in this duration )I'm not sure if that's a fair question because it does depend on usage. For example, if you travel a lot between home and work and coil your cable up, then that's going to reduce its life expectancy. Many people coil cables far too tightly.Likewise, with lithium batteries, if you charge it fully too often, that will lower its life as well. (Interestingly, Windows 10 seems to refrain from charging up to 100% to improve the battery's life. However, Ubuntu does not yet seem to do this and I have to unplug it when it gets close to 100% to achieve the same effect.)Also, if your home or workplace is particularly humid, then maybe your laptop won't last as long...So, it's a fairly difficult question to answer...I think electronics in general are lasting less and less time than they used to. Various companies have realised they make more money making you a fan of their products and selling a new product to you every couple of years is better for them than making one good product that last 10 years (for example). A bit sad...Ray
