Well, here in the US, the country that elected Trump, people are responding as he would, threatening store employees who ask that they wear masks. Yesterday, my wife went out briefly (Manhattan) to find the streets quite crowded (it was a nice day) and very few with masks. While some places are trying to enforce masks, others have given up, since they don't want employees or whoever beaten up for asking that others wear masks. As I've said, despite working from home and barely going out, I managed to catch it and go to the ICU. At this point, I wish all these people protesting staying home and mask wearing would have to spend a night in the ICU to see what they can do to people. I think that most people are more selfish than evil. But here, at least, asking people to wear masks won't work, people are going to the beaches in protest, not caring who they may infect afterwards, and having been unlucky enough to get infected, though apparently lucky enough to get better, I no longer have tolerance for stupidity. Honestly, while I know there are few limits on stupidity, even in the US, this takes me by surprise and one can only hope there's some karmic justice. I was born and spent my first 8 years in New Rochelle, (a suburb about 20 miles north of NYC), and remember thinking when it seemed confined to that area, Well, at least it won't come down here (to NYC). Boy was I wrong. Sorry, as I said before, I've become a grouch, but the stupidity of these people amazes me. Yes, they have a right to get sick if they want but they don't have a right to make others sick. -- Scott Robbins PGP keyID EB3467D6 ( 1B48 077D 66F6 9DB0 FDC2 A409 FA54 EB34 67D6 ) gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys EB3467D6
