For me it's Slack. When they started, it was easy to use irssi and weechat
with them. Then they took the irc gateway off, but someone wrote a plugin
for weechat that works. (irssi was still doable but a lot of work.) Now
they're going to take the legacy token thing away, not sure how the weechat
plugin will work on fresh installs but I save my config and so far it's
been transferable.

If anyone uses CentOS-8 and is annoyed at the lack of a weechat rpm, one
has been built and I can testify that it works. You can grab the spec file
at the bugzilla report.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1753203 (Laurent's spec file,
Ilyas's doesn't work with python, which you need if you're using the
weechat_py plugin).
Anyway, point being that Slack started being able to work with everything
and is gradually pushing them all out--seems like they're using the old
embrace, engulf, and extinguish (or whatever it is).
Sheesh, being sick, then quarantined is turning me into a grouchy old
guy, though maybe I was always like this. :)
