I use Ubuntu and usually turn to Boot Repair:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair .  As this is for
Ubuntu, I'm not sure if it's a good idea for a Debian installation
(perhaps you should Google around for other people's experiences
before trying).
