[tlug] Japanese writing does not work

Linux Mint 18.3 KDE 64bit Neither IBUS-Anthy nor IBUS-mozc will
change to Japanese writing. In LM 17.3 KDE 64 bit IBUS-anthy is working perfect. In LM19.1 Cinnamon 64bit IBUS-mozc is working. Does someone has experience with this way of Japanese writing? If so, I am prepared to exchange settings and all what is needed. yoroshiku onegaishimasu.
