Well, now that Claws-Mail has lost the ability to display HTML in it's
latest incarnation, I've been looking for an alternative mail client and
settled on Evolution because the the documentation said that it can read
/ write and save to MH format folders. But, after following the online
instructions, I can't find a way to add the existing claws-mail MH
folders to Evolution.
Before telling you what I told the Evolution site maintainers, the one
thing I have not tried is exporting the directories in claws. As is, in
their current directory form, they are invisible to Evolution. If
anyone can think of a solution, I am listening.
OS is Debian 9.6 KDE
I HAVE:
Claws-mail 3.17.1 which I do not wish to continue using as it has lost
the ability to render HTML reliably and multilingually.
All saved mails are in MH format directories.
I have been using claws for many years and have a very large,
well-developed folder tree with folders embedded down four levels.
The folders are stored in my /home/*username*/ directory.
I WANT TO:
Import three complete file trees (representing two accounts and one "Old
Business" storage system) into Evolution in MH format.
Replace the existing "On This Computer" main file and file tree with my
own main file tree which is in MH format (tried renaming the main /
current account storage files from "MAIL-G" of claws to "On This
Computer" without success -- Evolution could not see the files).
Re-establish mail sorting functions so that mail is sorted into
appropriate sub-directories.
THE FIRST TWO ITEMS ON THE "WANT" LIST ARE THE IMPORTANT ONES NOW.
