Quite frankly, I chose AWS because they were giving some talk /
training in Hong Kong for free. Then there was the "first year free"
deal and, as expected, once that year ended, I was reluctant to look
at an alternative. I'm sure that's their marketing ploy...
On a few occasions, nothing was running on my instance, but it became
very slow. I'm not sure what's the term used, but I guess the
physical machine that my instance was running on was doing something
intensive? (Part guess and part googling a long time ago.)
As Darren suggested, AWS has many features and sometimes I feel like
I'm paying more for many features I don't need. I never looked
through them.
Perhaps I might get fed up some day and look to Google...thank you for
the suggestion!
