Moin, As probably most of you, I have been using mrtg for all my private machines for "monitoring" or rather just graphing so I see how the system behaves over a long time. I recently set up an NTP server and wanted to add that into my "monitoring" and of course I hit the limitations of mrtg. Now I am looking for something modern to replace mrtg. Of course, I could build something like mrtg using rrdtool, but I am not very keen on building these things by hand if there are ready to use solutions out there. I tried to look at a few of the monitoring/graphing but all of them seem to be made for monitoring hundreds machines at least. But I only care at moste about a dozen machines, most of them "monitor" themselves, ie I don't have any global data collection. So, the question is, is there any easy to use monitoring tool out there that doesn't feel like a pangalactic space cruiser for people who only want to see what's going on with their servers?
