Alberto Tomita,The same one from Shinagawa Toastmasters? I have seen your name on here for a long time and it never dawned on me.David Blomberg On 3/28/2016 10:06 PM, A.Tomita wrote:-=-=-=- Announcement: April 2016 TLUG Technical Meeting -=-=-=-=-Meeting information Date: April 16, 2016 (Saturday)Time: 13:30-17:00 (doors open 13:00) Place: IIJ (Internet Initiative Japan) Iidabashi Grand Bloom 2-10-2 Fujimi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-0071 Presentations: 1. How things are routed on the Internet (by Curt Sampson) Do you want to know where and how your packets are routed across the Internet? Curt will explain this, based on actual data you bring in. Before you come to the meeting, run traceroute login.worldoftanks.asia and we will go through the list of names and IP addresses that come up and compare what's happening in your Internet connection with that of other TLUG members. Depending on interest, we might delve quite deep in to the details of either or both of Internet routing and how your host processes packets internally once they've been received. 2. Ethereum: The unstoppable decentralized world computer that's going to kill us all (by Edmund Edgar) Edmund will talk about what Ethereum is and how you can use it to write fully-verifiable decentralized applications that don't need a server and can't be shut down. https://www.ethereum.org/ "Ethereum is a decentralized platform that runs smart contracts: applications that run exactly as programmed without any possibility of downtime, censorship, fraud or third party interference." "These apps run on a custom built blockchain, an enormously powerful shared global infrastructure that can move value around and represent the ownership of property. This enables developers to create markets, store registries of debts or promises, move funds in accordance with instructions given long in the past (like a will or a futures contract) and many other things that have not been invented yet, all without a middle man or counterparty risk."More details: http://tlug.jp/wiki/Meetings:2016:04Other items on the agenda are: 1. Introduction of new members, news about Linux/Open Source, general announcements, Q&A 2. Auction (bring any gear that would would like to donate to TLUG) All Linux users and supporters of open source code and free software are invited to attend this Tokyo Linux Users Group (TLUG) meeting. Membership is open to anyone. There are no membership dues or entrance fees. After the meeting, we will continue chatting over a few beers. About TLUG ---------- TLUG is a non-profit, non-political organization established in June of 1994 to exchange information on the use of Linux and Free Software Foundation tools. TLUG has an active mailing list, home page, and regular physical meetings. Discussions are primarily held in English, but non-English speakers are encouraged to come and participate. We especially want to encourage Japanese people to attend and will make efforts to support a bilingual meeting. TLUG generally hosts technical meetings every odd-numbered month on the 2nd Saturday, and a nomikai (social even at a pub) every even-numbered month on the 2nd Friday. The TLUG home page is available at http://www.tlug.jp For any instructions or info before the meeting: Edward Middleton ............ 090-3689-0292 Alberto Tomita ............ 080-3463-9256
