-=-=-=- Announcement: February 2016 TLUG Technical Meeting -=-=-=-=- Meeting information Date: February 13, 2016 (Saturday) Time: 13:30-17:00 (doors open 13:00) Place: IIJ (Internet Initiative Japan) Iidabashi Grand Bloom 2-10-2 Fujimi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-0071 Presentations: 1. Digital Photography with Linux (by Alberto Tomita) This presentation will introduce some of the digital photography applications available in Linux, from GIMP to Darktable, and going through a few others. The first part will cover the very basics of photography and then introduce the concepts involved in digital photography, so that everyone (including beginners) can understand what the tools do. For intermediary and advanced photographers, this will also be a chance to review the basics and exchange ideas. 2. OpenVNet live demo from scratch (by Andreas Kieckens) OpenVNet is a Software Defined Networking solution developed by Axsh Co LTD. (where Andreas works) and published as free open source software http://axsh.jp/openvnet/ During this presentation, Andreas will demonstrate how to set up OpenVNet from scratch. Over the course of the demo we will: * Install OpenVNet on a single Centos VM. * Set up multiple virtual network topologies. * Use the vnflows-monitor tool to show OpenVNet's internal "flows". Auction (bring any gear that would would like to donate to TLUG) All Linux users and supporters of open source code and free software are invited to attend this Tokyo Linux Users Group (TLUG) meeting. Membership is open to anyone. There are no membership dues or entrance fees. After the meeting, we will continue chatting over a few beers. About TLUG ---------- TLUG is a non-profit, non-political organization established in June of 1994 to exchange information on the use of Linux and Free Software Foundation tools. TLUG has an active mailing list, home page, and regular physical meetings. Discussions are primarily held in English, but non-English speakers are encouraged to come and participate. We especially want to encourage Japanese people to attend and will make efforts to support a bilingual meeting. TLUG generally hosts technical meetings every odd-numbered month on the 2nd Saturday, and a nomikai (social even at a pub) every even-numbered month on the 2nd Friday.
