[tlug] Kobo-Glo Reader on Sale

Just a heads up for anyone wanting an inexpensive monochrome-screen 
e-book reader with a good reputation. The Rakuten Kobo Glo, which is a 
head-to-head competitor to the Kindle Paperwhite, is currently on sale 
for 3990円 until 22 NOV in celebration of the Rakuten Tohoku Eagle's 
Japan Series victory over that Tokyo team that wants to be mistaken for 
the Yankees.

Some reviewers report that the Kobo Glo screen is brighter than the 
Paperwhite but, generally it gets good reviews. It has a larger memory 
but no 3G, so you can't buy new books while riding the Yamanote-sen like 
you can with Amazon's offerings.

Further downside on the Japanese-language site is that all of the 
"popular" books seem to be titty-boom types with garish, explicit 
covers. Other than that, it does reading at a quarter the cost of the 
Kindle and seems to play all of the same formats.
