Which is free, runs everywhere, and the only new downside is it will show some ads for people who are not paying customers. (Not a new concept...) Cisco TelePresence: for companies with lots of budget to talk with other companies with lots of budget. Ekiga: For Linux to talk with Windows XP. Only. Facetime: For Apple to talk to itself. Google this/that/the other: "Google makes a thing a wee bit confusing when it comes to their communications offerings". Oovoo: doesn't run on linux. It appears the author liked the number 7, and really wanted to find 7 alternatives. When in fact there is only one possible alternative to Skype, and it is one of the Google offerings. Only, I couldn't work out which one of them it was.
