I used to save AT power supplies for such. Then I visited a
customer in eastern Asia who saves nothing. He had to borrow
the power supply from someone else's kid's computer. It was
a huge hassle for all parties concerned.
I have since learned how to use ATX power supplies to be
always on. For the older 20-pin ATX power supplies connector,
connect pin 14 to pin 13 or pin 15. For the newer 24-pin
connector connect pin 16 to pin 15 or pin 17. It's no big deal.

The old AT power supplies probably predate the bad capacitor
problems that started in the late '90s, so that might be
something in their slight favor.

About the only use I can think of for an old AT case and power
supply is for use as a case and power supply for external
hard drives. Of course SATA drives would frustrate that.
