I'm happy to be educated (I did say I was guessing -- did I ever tell
you about the first time I said "You know, Bob, I really don't know?"
to a colleague at OSU? :-)

N.B. That still doesn't sound like a limitation of X to me.  That's
like blaming Linux because it can't detect the mountable USB in your
shirt pocket!
