- Subject: [tlug] using WiMAX
Hi guys,
Has anyone succeeded in running WiMAX on their Linux box?
I have been trying to get it working on my Toshiba R737 with built-in card:
04:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation WiMAX/WiFi Link 6050
Series (rev 5e)
Subsystem: Intel Corporation WiFi Link 6050 Series 2x2 6050AGN
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 11
Memory at c2600000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
Capabilities: [c8] Power Management version 3
Capabilities: [d0] MSI: Enable- Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+
Capabilities: [e0] Express Endpoint, MSI 00
Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting
Capabilities: [140] Device Serial Number 00-23-15-ff-ff-cd-fd-e8
Kernel modules: iwlagn
I can sometimes connect to UQ and even get an IP (via DHCP), but
nothing else works (e.g. ping, dnsip) and I get dropped a minute
later.
In windoze-land there is some helper app that does the
connection/authentication.
I hoped that linux-3.2.1 will bring something new, but it didn't.
Cheers,
Kalin.
