Hi Andreas, On 13/09/11 12:15, Andreas Kieckens wrote:I've recently moved and am living by myself in Japan for the first time. I have to choose an internet provider now but I really have no idea where to start. I just wanted to ask what everyone is using and why. I don't need anything too fancy. Just being able to browse at a decent speed would be fine. No mail addresses, webspace or anything else needed. I don't want any monthly data limits but I imagine that those don't exist in Japan anyway. I'm living in Itabashi-ku in case it's relevant.I've lived in several places in Japan already. I'm not sure if this is a good thing to admit, but for the two most recent places, I chose the internet provider that went with the apartment. i.e., when you get your contract from the agency, the pamphlet that they also give you. I probably should have shopped around...In one case, it seemed like our landlord had an NTT fiber line installed in the building and residents could choose to share this line (by paying NTT directly and not the landlord). I later found out that the nice thing was the NTT provider (OCN, I think) had an English toll free number [if I remember correctly].Ray
