Presumably the problem here is that the hotel network is restricting outgoing connections except to ports usually used by e-mail and the web. That means that you can't make an outgoing connection to an SSH server listening on port 22 (or whatever port you have sshd listening on). If I'm reading it right the site you've linked is for someone who _is_ about to get out on the SSH port, but wants to use SSH to encrypt their e-mail traffic. In your case, couldn't you just set your SSH server to listen on one of the ports that they're allowing through? For example, if you're not running an HTTPS site on your web server, port 443 should be available, so tell sshd to listen on that. -- Edmund Edgar Founder, KK Social Minds Educational Technology for the Web and Virtual Worlds ed@example.com +81 090 3912 3380 Skype: edmundedgar Second Life: Edmund Earp Linked In: edmundedgar Twitter: @edmundedgar http://www.socialminds.jp
