EDA is a widely used term in the world including Japan and
the States.

Even the giant car company Toyota uses Cadence in electronics
division.  I personally worked and trained EDA design chain for them.

EDA = Electronic Design Automation
Just wanted to point out it's not a special thing at all in the industry.
