If you would really like to get something done about this, you could go to your reseller and ask them to make a joint report to the regulator. The content of the report will be that the reseller worked very hard with you to resolve the problem and you're happy with that, but that both of you are worried about other customers who may have less conscientious registrars, and whether it is fair to the conscientious registrars to leave the rules and rights of domain owners ambiguous. Something like that. I don't know how German companies feel about regulators, but if you put it that way they get a good report from an activist consumer ... they can' be too unhappy. :-) This could involve a fair amount of effort (emails, phone calls to the regulator, etc) though.
