Hi, TLUG,
Surely, since I was back Tokyo from Britain in May, I can not find any
Linux preinstalled netbook here.
- like European model HP or EeePC.
Instead, I am aware that price and distribution of external DVD drives
are great here.

I have installed Ubuntu on the IBM era Think Pad and using it now,
but I am planning to buy a HP or EeePC netbook with an external DVD
drive at reasonable price and quality now.

Hi TLUG,
Thanks to all who answered. After trying all shops, here is a last question (and my feedback below).
-> what do you think about this 50.000Y model?
http://www.faith-go.co.jp/pc/model/?id=108613
Do you think it would be better to pay 20.000Y more for this one?

Complete feedback, so that it can be helpfull for next people wanting to buy a laptop in Tokyo:
1) Impossible to find a decent laptop with preinstalled linux, and DVD player. The only preinstalled linux i found in Japan are:
- DELL : two models with Ubuntu preinstalled but no DVD player
- LinuxMania: Osaka shop http://www.linuxmania.jp/ but no DVD player
- MCL Japan: http://mcljapan.com/laptop.htm , but the only linux model they have is 10" and only 3months warranty
2) No-OS shops:
http://www.dospara.co.jp/
http://www.faith-go.co.jp
and maybe others.
but they don't accept live-CD test, even if they know that live-CD loads in RAM and can't break anything.
3) BicCamera, YodobashiCamera: only Windows PC, and no liveCD test allowed.
Best regards,
~YannUbuntu
