What out of the BSD userland tools require that?
Intel's C compiler does not quite count, but it sounds
close. I used DEC's native Alpha C compiler for
many things when building the stillborn Turbolinux 7
for Alpha, but there was a lot of stuff it could not
compile.
BSD make[1] could probably be made to grow a GNU
make compatibility mode fairly cheaply if that were
really an issue.
Does KDE have any GNU dependencies (other than
G++)? I haven't checked in years.
