Hm.. Make sure that there are php5.conf and php5.load in /etc/apache2/mods-available/ andthose files are symbolic linked in /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/ just like other modules in that directory. If they are not linked, you just can make those links yourself. After that, restart apache. On Sun, Nov 2, 2008 at 1:12 AM, Dave M G <dave@example.com> wrote:Ty,
Thanks for responding. This is very strange. The output of apache2ctl -M doesn't have any PHP module listed.
Make sure there is php5_module loaded with your apache. You can use apache2ctl -M for this.
However, in Synaptic, so far as I can tell, I have every PHP and Apache package installed.
I'm a little lost as to what to do if the package is installed but it's not actually implemented. That's never happened before. In previous installations I just installed via apt-get or Synaptic and it was all automagic.
I'm not sure the problem is just with PHP talking to Apache, either. It seems to me that Apache itself is not actually running, even though I've tried to start it at the command line. Usually, if it's working, one sees a "It Works!" message in the browser, which I'm not seeing.
Is there something I can try to force Apache and/or PHP to actually be active?
PS, just for reference, this is the output of apache2ctl -M:
