OK, here's what I'm thinking:
You can't put 100% trust in the electronic system. (See your and Curt's earlier posts for details.)
You can't put 100% trust in the paper system. (See the rest of your latest post for details.)
The two have different kinds of vulnerabilities.
Wouldn't an electronic system keeping one count and a paper system keeping another count help here? So to steal an election you would have to simultaneously pull a Mugabe _and_ a Diebold and make them both tell the same lies?
