OpenAFS should be hardened out in many years of development, repli- cation of the meta-data needed for distributed filesystems should feel better than for mogilefs. Of course its not easy to set up, requires kerberos-authentication and all small dependencies for this like proper DNS, ntp etc. Traffic is also not encrypted, harder to setup than mogilefs, its also opensource but much heavier codebase than mogilefs.
