Actually, everybody here uses this layout, and vi. Vi is painful
with the Esc and Control keys in the "new standard" (since the PC/AT
keyboard) positions. And no suprise; the new layout was in part designed
to make using WordStar painful.

We've even standardized on a keyboard: the Lenovo ThinkPad keyboard. (As
well as three Thinkpad notebook computers, we have four USB keyboards of
this type, though admittedly one is a US keytop layout.)
