Yes, I was planning on the nvidia chipset, as I am annoyed with my current T30's ATI Radeon. Compiz and Radeon do not play well together.
I am a little concerned about the keyboard-- this is one main reason that I continually choose ThinkPad. I heard that the "ThinkPad store" [1] in Akihabara will switch keyboards in and out for you; e.g. if you were to buy a Japanese ThinkPad they would switch it with an English keyboard for an additional cost.
Anyway, I'll probably end up buying today and post my install log to my blog and link it back here, in case anyone's curious.
