[tlug] Nominations for Sourceforge.net Community Choice Awards Now Open

TLUGers,

FULL DISCLOSURE: I work with SourceForge on public relations.

Tomorrow (Wed, May 14th), nominations are officially opening for the 3rd annual Sourceforge.net Community Choice Awards. This year, for the first time, the awards will be open to ALL open source projects, not just SourceForge-based projects.

There's the open nominations period which lasts from May 14th through June 20th, then voting on the finalists, and it leads up to the awards party during OSCON at the Jupiter Hotel in Portland, Oregon, July 24th.  Last year the party was big, with something like 500 people.  It's SourceForge and open source; it's not a boring awards ceremony, kind of wide open and fun, with free food and drink and nerdy prizes.

Let's get some Japanese open source projects involved!  It's purely based on online voting.  It would be cool to have Japan represented.

Thanks,
Jesse
