It sounds like name resolution to me, too, but it's not hard to confirm
that it is the browser. Just use the ping command-line tool to try to
ping a name, and if it comes up with a name to address mapping and
starts trying to send the packets, your resolver is working ok. (If
you don't see any responses to the pings, don't worry; you're probably
trying to ping one of Josh's machines and he's just trying to make your
problem more difficult to debug. :-))
