If you are root and especially sysadmin, you must avoid it, surely with the path proposed in other emails, . (dot) being the first one in the path. For instance, if I ask you to run "ls" while being in "/tmp" or in my home, would you do it? I hope not, if you have "." at the beginning of your path ;-) br. -- 2 + 2 = 5, for very large values of 2.
