Re: [tlug] Linux, laptop, and s-video output
Does anyone here have any insight into what I need to do to get s-video
output from my laptop?
I haven't done this myself, but I was fiddling with my video card today
so I might be able to take a few shots in the dark.
I suspect you are using the latest Ubuntu.
What does this give you?
$xrandr -q
If you get something like:
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 1280 x 1280
VGA connected 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right) 338mm x 270mm
1280x1024 60.0*+
1024x768 70.1 60.0
832x624 74.6
800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2
640x480 75.0 72.8 66.7 60.0
720x400 70.1
LVDS connected (normal left inverted right)
1024x768 60.0 +
800x600 60.3
640x480 60.0 59.9
TV connected (normal left inverted right)
Then this might do it:
$xrandr --output TV --auto
Of course YMMV depending on your video driver. If this doesn't work you
might mentioned your machine model, and video driver. Maybe someone here
has something similar.

Birkir
