Its also very good and less boring than most. :) I highly recommend the W Richard Stevens (expensive and old).APUE and the rest but these cabn be dry reading and some code does not compile well on 2.6 kernels with 4.2 gcc but that can be easily fixed with a few #include and printf replacements. Professional Linux Programming Jon Masters, by Wrox Press, Published 2007, ISBN 0471776130 I used an older version of this book and its a good kick but watch out for the buffer flush code if they still use the old method is never worked in the first place and has been exposed on nss as crap over and over the rest of the book was good though and its very up to date. (not to great for c99 though) enjoy
