I have been using read only NTFS access without problems for several
years. I just noticed ntfs3g[1] which is a fuse based read/write
capable NTFS driver, which claims to be very stable. I will give it a
try now.

The problem with fat32 is that it doesn't work well with large
filesystems >32G and doesn't support files over 4G. Both are distinct
possibilities if you are doing video work.
