I would second that.

Unstable technically means they just grabbed a neat looking package and tossed it in.  However, and this is a biggy, it also means that it has most likely worked on at least one of the dev's personal machine, maybe more.

Test means that they are preparing it for the main distribution.  They like it, it is a keeper, BUT it also means that they are actively making tweaks.  Active tweaking means active breakage.  ^_^

This also means that sometimes bleeding edge is not so bloody. :P
