Re: [tlug] [OT] MP3 Player usb support MACOS
Pietro,
The Cowon iAudio will work under Windows, Mac, and Linux. They list both
Mac and Linux on their list of compatible operating systems:
http://www.cowonglobal.com/product/product_U3_spec.php
"Supports MAC OS (Data transfer only), Supports Linux v 2.2 or higher
(Data transfer only)"
I chose it over an iPod Nano because it plays more different file
formats than the iPod series, including OGG, is smaller, and a little
cheaper. The only point I feel that the iPod wins is style. Those Apple
people do know a thing or two about design.
I have used two different models, and still currently own an iAudio. It
works fine under Linux, so I would assume it would work at least as well
under Mac OS as well.
In Linux, Amarok recognizes it as an MP3 player, so I can use Amarok's
playlist and sorting features for moving songs on and off. My guess
would be that in Mac, if there were any troubles, it would be in having
any particular music software acknowledge the iAudio directly. But at
the least, you would be able to use it as a removable hard disk and
transfer files manually.
Hope that helps.
