Heh.  Man, you shoulda seen the shit that NEC used to do (eg, the
little metal bridge in their PS2/AUX sockets so you couldn't plug in a
non-NEC-brand mouse without a special connector) until Toshiba and
Sony (not to mention Gateway and Dell) clobbered their butts in the
luggable (now notebook) market precisely by being quite Blue in their
interfaces.  Now the LaVie is a bog-(sub)standard piece of equipment.
