Hi,

What you might want to consider before buying a laptop is the video
card and wifi card it has.

ATI cards have questionable support under Linux, while nVidia cards
have pretty good (through proprietary, if you care) support. Intel
video cards have open source drivers.

Not too sure about the wireless cards, but I heard bad things about
Broadcom and my Intel wireless card is treating me very well.
