Are there any really good XML tutorials on the web, or perhaps a book that is actually useful?
To help you in your studies, I suggest reading "Portlets and Apache Portals" by Stefan Hepper et al. You can register and download a free copy of it at http://www.manning.com/hepper/ . While this book isn't about XML per se, it is a useful resource for showing how to put XML to work. Also, it is good for getting a better understanding of the jargon associated with "web services".
