Hello Everyone,

The BBQ yesterday was great. I had a good time and would like to thank
everyone for coming along. Everyone who confirmed they were going to
be there actually turned up. Which was excellent and a first for TLUG
I think :-)

There were a fair load of pictures taken so I would like to collect as
many as possible and make them available to all via the web site. In
particular we need an "Alpha Geeks Page".

HDD Throwing for Accuracy Event:
vi versus emacs - vi team were the victors here. Emacs put in a good
show however they took too long to "boot up" their editor to really
allow them to focus on the simple task of throwing a HDD.

Gentoo versus Debian - Gentoo came out on top. The Debian team
possibly fell asleep after waiting for the Gentooist to finish
"compiling" their strategy.

HDD Shot Put Event - Men:
Mattia Dongili was the "clear" winner in this event. However a review
of his throwing technique may be required ;-)

HDD Shot Put Event - Women
Kaori Bawden. After years of boomerang throwing practice in the
outback Kaori had an obvious advantage over the other competitors.

Keyboard Key Removal Time Trial
I'm sorry but I cannot remember her name. Trevor please update the
list with this info :-) Trevor's better half achieved this feat in
around 14 seconds. It is believed she completed the task in such a
time in order to expedite her escape from the mad men head butting and
punching keyboards around her.

Keyboard Refurbishment Time Trial
Trevor was the speediest at this event with a time of around 1 min 15
seconds. Lucky for Trevor the closest competitor was Marty. Who
unfortunately had some of his keys on upside down :-(
