Did you look at Gentoo? The basic installation is *very* basic and you just emerge what you need for your specific purpose. Have fun Rainer PS: I'm new to the TLUG - a bit of introduction: I used to live in Tokyo from 1991 to 2001 and still travel a lot to Japan. I'm German, my wife is from Tokyo, and we live with three kids in Bonn now. My Japanese is quite OK for a conversation but I don't read Kanji. I'm using Linux since 2000, started with SuSE and addicted to Gentoo since three years.
