well, this is what I do not understand. Why the very same BIOS likes
booting the older kernel from the very same drive and partition, while
does *not* like to boot the new kernel?

Does it suggest that either BIOS upgrade or repartitioning are
inevitable? (i.e. no hope for simply solving that by waiting for another
kernel upgrade sometime in the future?)
