Jim,
Thank you for responding.
Try installing KDE.
Really? This option concerns me for three reasons.
One is that a long time ago, when first running Ubuntu, I installed KDE,
because I wanted to be able to switch back and forth between it and
Gnome to see which I liked better. But when I did, KDE took over my
desktop and assumed its place as my default desktop, and getting back to
Gnome was very difficult.
Two is that the instructions I'm looking at are for regular Ubuntu, not
Kubuntu, and they say nothing about requiring KDE. They say only:
* cvs
* automake1.7
* libbluetooth-dev
* libasound2-dev
* linux-headers-[kernel version]
And last, since I'm able to run KDE based programs in Gnome anyway, like
Amarok, what other KDE programs would I need?
If I've made a mistake somewhere and these instructions are for KDE and
not Gnome, then I think I would rather search for some Gnome based
Bluetooth instructions.
