Stephen, Thank you for your detailed help.I won't whine about the continuing differences between instructions and reality that I encountered, and skip to the part where I was able to get DBG installed so that a phpinfo() output shows:Zend Engine v2.1.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2006 Zend Technologies with DBG v2.13.1, (C) 2000,2006, by Dmitri Dmitrienko The latter line being indicative of success, or so I'm led to believe. Now, to actually get it, PHPeclipse, to do something. Or, in other words, the next wall of incomprehension.According to this site: http://www.phpeclipse.de/tiki-index.php?page=RemoteDebuggingI need to go to the "Debug Configuration" dialog, and find the "Environment -> Remote Debug" setting.Which, as you might predict, does not exist anywhere in the interface.Or if it does, it's hidden in an unmarked box, buried in a mine shaft, and guarded by tigers. For amusements sake, I tried hitting the "debug" button in the interface, and it says:"You must define and interpreter before running PHP."I don't know if that's a different issue from above or not, just that nowhere have I encountered any instructions to set up an "interpreter".Not that I'm expecting TLUG members to be totally informed about the Eclipse interface with regards to PHP, or the PHPeclipse module (which I'm not sure what the difference is).But since TLUGers were able to make what seemed to me to be complete gibberish before and shed some light, maybe something similar can happen again. But also looks like I'll have to join a PHPeclipse forum or mailing list if I can find one.-- Dave M G Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Kernel 2.6.17.7 Pentium D Dual Core Processor PHP 5, MySQL 5, Apache 2
