Re: [tlug] linux and zarus?

Hi all,

First of all, thanks for the huge amount of information on the recent models of Zaurus. I'm going to have to pop over to Akihabara sometime this week and see what they are going for. Looks like having a microdrive is the way to go.

Basically I'm going to use it for everything it can do- ssh into my server at home, get mail via imap or pop3 from that same server, listen to mp3s, use the dictionary, browse the web, etc.

I'm curious about these Linux enabled PDAs can do - for example do you run IPtables when you have it online? And what about graphical interfaces? Do they support xorg? I'm guessing KDE and Gnome would be a bit heavy as well, so do you run windomaker or is there a specific PDA application for this?

Again, thanks for all the excellent advice. My birthday is coming up next month, just in time for a new toy!

Cheers,

Scott VanDusen
