- User-agent: Debian Thunderbird 1.0.7 (X11/20051017)
I'm a BitTorrent newbie, and although I did succeed in downloading a
few seasons of the Sopranos at occasionally good speeds, with other
files, I get stuck with extremely slow download speeds most of the time.
I don't know whether this has to do with local firewall settings, or
simply the fact that the files I am trying to get are problematic, but
I would just like to ask this for now:
In Debian, I am using the Guarddog firewall. I currently have ticked
off the boxes for "BitTorrent Peer" and "BitTorrent Tracker."
Is there any other protocol that should be selected, or any other
tweak that should be done to the firewall to facilitate BitTorrent? I
am on a fiber-optic network in my Manshon.
Currently, with this torrent

I usually start off with a decent speed, such as 50 kbs, but then it
drops down to a steady 2 kbs or so.
Regards,
Chuck
