-=-=-=- Announcement: 2006/02/25 TLUG Technical Meeting -=-=-=-=- Meeting information Date: February 25 (Saturday) Time: 11:30 - 12:30 (doors open 11:00) Place: Wall Street Associates Japan Boardroom. 5F Yajima Building, 11-3, Ginza 7-chome, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, 104-0061, Japan Map: http://www.wallstreetjapan.com/Images/Wsa_Map.jpg Topics: free talk with Art Tyde This is an extra meeting, outside the TLUG regular calendar. Art Tyde was the co-founder and first CEO of Linuxcare, founder/president of the Silicon Valley and Bay Area Linux Users Group (1994), a director of controversial Open Source software company SpecOps Labs, a founder of embedded Linux wireless company Sputnik Inc. (just about to IPO), and the Chief Certification Officer for the Free Standards Group. His company Levanta (formerly known as Linuxcare) is currently looking to find Japanese resellers for their product -- and he is, of course, looking to hook up with the Linux community in Japan. Thus, we are scheduling this extra meeting, earlier and shorter than usual, as an opportunity to talk with Art. All Linux users and supporters of open source code and free software are invited to attend this Tokyo Linux Users Group (TLUG) meeting. Membership is open to anyone. There are no membership dues or entrance fees. After the meeting, we will look for a place for lunch and continue chatting (and have a few beers). About TLUG ---------- TLUG is a non-profit, non-political organization established in June of 1994 to exchange information on the use of Linux and Free Software Foundation tools. TLUG has an active mailing list, home page, and regular physical meetings. Discussions are primarily held in English, but non-English speakers are encouraged to come and participate. We especially want to encourage Japanese people to attend and will make efforts to support a bilingual meeting. TLUG hosts technical meetings every odd month on the 2nd Saturday, and nomikai's every even month on the 2nd Friday.
