I think that was my maildrop/procmail thing, wasn't it?  
Actually, it was the author of getmail who turned me on to maildrop.
Then, maildrop began having a file locking issue, but it was fixed
within a couple of weeks.  

I do remember that, but you could easily be right about the other.
