I don't know if you can check the server certificate or not, I've never done it. I suspect that you can, but that's only a guess. I use because there were a few little things about fetchmail that irked me. This was over a year ago, and I can't even remember what they were. A friend was using getmail, recommended it, I tried it and liked it. We also have a qnd getmail page (but it doesn't cover your questions.) http://www.qnd-guides.org/qnd-getmail.html So, I can't honestly say Oh, use getmail, it's a million times better than fetchmail, it's simply (in my case) a matter of taste rather than knowledge. The getmail faq gives reasons why the author feels it's better than fetchmail, but I imagine he's prejudiced. :) At any rate, the tricky part of using mutt with gmail is the smtp part. That's the main reason I made that page, to deal with sending. Receiving is, as you've found, fairly trivial. - -- Scott Robbins PGP keyID EB3467D6 ( 1B48 077D 66F6 9DB0 FDC2 A409 FA54 EB34 67D6 ) gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys EB3467D6 Principal Snyder: It's fuzzy-minded liberal thinking like that that gets you eaten. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFD7U8x+lTVdes0Z9YRAvrqAJ9MGU0pHSAnYgCk9ubeWom7sSZnxgCguvMk 7bkBvviPBw8+y0kdtEBi4DM= =ChHr -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
