Serious point though, I haven't run Linux full time for awhile, so I'm
not sure where the script would be--in FreeBSD it's one of the
/etc/periodic scripts and by default, only runs once a week at 3:00 AM
or something. So, if you needed to locate something you'd installed
after that, you would have to run updatedb (in FreeBSD
/usr/libexec/locate.updatedb) for it to find the file.
If you don't leave your machine on 24 hours a day, there's a good chance
that the cronjob won't run--it's usually set (on Linux as well, I
assume) to run in the wee hours of the morning by default.
