One possibility is to try starting it from a terminal and seeing if it
works.  Something like 

XMODIFIERS="@example.com=SCIM" LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8 mozilla


See if that has any success.  If not, hopefully Dr. Mike, the
SuSEmeister will see your post and help.  :)
