The only RT OS I've had to deal with is the HP's nonstop (aka
Tandem). A process can be assigned to a CPU of a certain priority. By
no means a general purpose OS, with archaic APIs, runs on extremely
expensive hardware.
DOS was a real time OS: one process at a time...
